MPEG layer 2 - MP2
- audio is a medium complexity audio compression system which is also
known as the MUSICAM system. The MUSICAM system achieves medium
compression ratios dividing the audio signal into sub bands, coding
these sub bands and multiplexing them together. The MUSICAM system is used in
the digital audio broadcasting (DAB) system. To obtain high
fidelity quality (e.g. music) with MP2 typically requires 128 kbps per
audio channel.
