MPEG layer 1 - MP1
- audio is a low complexity audio compression system. MP1 was the first
digital audio and it uses the precision adaptive sub-band coding (PASC)
algorithm. This process divides the digital audio signal into multiple
frequency bands and only transmits the audio bands that can be heard by the
listener. To obtain high fidelity quality (e.g. music) with MP1 typically
requires 192 kbps per audio channel.
